Senior Prep

Most swimmers that participate in the Senior Prep Program are between the ages of 11 and 17 years old and are not interested in swimming competitively, while others use the SR-P program as a place to bridge the gap from recreational swimming or lessons to competitive swimming.  Swimmers in the Senior Prep program desire to improve their stroke technique and overall fitness without the schedule demands of year round training and competition.  

Many SR-P swimmers have never joined a year round swim team before.  Some of these swimmers may desire to join our AG or SR program when they are physically ready, but most prefer to simply improve their fitness level and technique.  Swimmers in this program are offered 2-3 practices per week and the program is NOT focused on competitive swimming, but SR-P swimmers are encouraged to participate in Stroke School meets.  SR-P swimmers that wish to compete at USA Swimming meets will either be moved to the AG or SR program, or may obtain permission from the Head Coach.  The goal of the SR-P program is to provide a place for swimmers to have fun, improve, and become better swimmers, but without the intensity and expectation level of the AG or SR programs.

Senior Prep (SR-P)

Most swimmers in SR-P are between the ages of 11-17 and have some or a small amount of swimming experience.  Some have taken lessons or swam summer league, but still may need some stroke development before becoming strong, fluid swimmers.  Swimmers in this group are able to swim for short-medium distances, but may not have the endurance or technique to swim for long distances without tiring.  Practice is offered between 2-3 times per week for approximately 1-1.5 Hours. It is recommended that swimmers try to attend 2-3 practices per week to see steady improvement, if they are able to do so.

SR-P swimmers are not expected to compete in USA Swimming meets, but are encouraged to participate in Stroke School meets if they are interested in the world of competitive swimming.  The goal of SR-P is to help swimmers become strong, fluid swimmers capable of swimming all 4 competitive strokes and to learn the fundamentals of swimming.
